The week's rota, done in a coffee break
Drag the shifts into place, see who can actually work, and download the hours for payroll. 19 kroner a month for the whole place — no per-seat pricing, no lock-in.
No card to try it. The planner runs in your browser.
Why we built this
A rostering tool that wants five licences and a twelve-month contract is built for a chain, not for a café with three part-timers and a summer temp. The price on the page is rarely the problem — the seat minimum and the contract underneath it are. So we built the opposite.
One flat price
19 kroner a month whether you are two people or twenty. No licences to count, no bill that jumps when the summer temp starts.
No lock-in
Monthly. Cancel whenever, from the same screen you signed up on. No notice period, no call with a salesperson to get out.
Data kept in the EU
Rota runs on servers in the EU. The planner on this page keeps your week in your own browser — it is not sent anywhere, including to us.
How it works
1. Add your people
Name, contracted hours, and the days they cannot work. Two minutes, once.
2. Fill the week
Make your shift templates — opening, mid, closing — and let Rota hand them to whoever is available. Drag them wherever you want them afterwards.
3. Send the hours to payroll
One button gives you a timesheet as CSV, with Norwegian column names, DD.MM.YYYY dates and decimal commas.
What you actually use every week
A week you can drag
The whole week on one screen, one row per person. Move a shift to another day or another person by dragging it.
Availability
Everyone has the days they cannot work. Put a shift there and the plan says so immediately — not on Friday.
Shift swaps
Flag a shift as wanting a swap, then see who is free that day and hand it over in one click.
Shift templates
Your place probably has three or four shifts that repeat. Make them once and fill the week with them.
Hours against the contract
A running total per person while you plan, held against their contracted hours. You see who has run out before the week starts.
Timesheet for payroll
A semicolon CSV with Norwegian column names that you map into your payroll system on import.
Price
19 kr
per month, for the whole place
The price is what the service costs us to run plus a thin margin. It is not an intro offer, it does not rise as you grow, and there is no more expensive tier to be upgraded into.
The subscription is not open yet. The planner on this page is free and ready to use now, and the subscription will be for places that want the week saved, shared with staff and available on more than one device. The price is here because it is decided, not because it is a promotion.
Frequently asked questions
Does it cost more when we hire someone?
No. 19 kroner a month covers the whole place, however many people are on the rota. There is no per-seat price, and we are not going to introduce one on a plan that is already drawn.
Will there be a contract?
No. The subscription is meant to run month to month and be cancelled from your own account. No notice period, and no call with a salesperson to leave. That is the entire reason Rota exists.
Can I get my data out if I leave?
Yes. The planner on this page keeps your week in your browser, so it is already yours, and the timesheet downloads as CSV whenever you like. The same rule applies to the subscription: your data must be downloadable for as long as the account exists.
Where is the data kept?
Rota runs on servers in the EU. The rota you build in the planner here is stored in your browser and never reaches us at all.
Which payroll systems does the export suit?
The export is a semicolon-separated CSV with Norwegian column names, DD.MM.YYYY dates and decimal commas. Payroll systems with CSV import ask you to point their columns at yours on the first import — the file is named so that step is obvious.
Do I need to sign up to use the planner?
No. The planner needs no account and no install — it runs in the browser, on a phone and on a PC.
Try it on the week you are actually in
The planner is the whole product, not a demo with holes in it. Add your people, fill the week, download the timesheet.
